Argumentation- Emily Dickenson

The brain is a complex mystery that we can never fully understand. We develop feelings that are indescribable.  Emily Dickinson argues that our brain is developed with a speck of darkness when we are born. She claims that there is already darkness in us from the get go. There are two types of fears, the fear that you experience in the outside whether it be seeing a spider or watching the world slowly fall apart, or the fear inside, which deals with your mental health. Your internal fears are something you're trapped with, like being trapped in a cage wherever you go. We all have fear or a monster within us that we live with everyday and that to me is so much more horrifying then whatever else in the world may be seen as "scary".
Psychological fear can be described as Mental Illness. Having a Mental Illness is terrifying because instead of being scared and fighting with the external world you're fighting with what's supposed to be your safe space, you fight with your own conscious. You fight with your own demons which ultimately control your life. Think of it like this, a common fear for some people is riding a roller coaster for fears of speed or falling of and dying but when you get on a roller coaster it's over in two minutes and you can go about your way, with internal fear, you're stuck with it forever, you have to deal with it forever. It's not a two minute ride, it's a life long ride. Fighting with yourself and being trapped in your own mental prison is not something you can easily overcome. You're haunted for life.
Some may argue that Mental Illness isn't real and people do it for attention or to gain pity, but it's a real thing, there are people out there in the world who fight a battle with themselves everyday when you shouldn't have to fight with your own mind. Of course there are horrible things happening in the world and people have superficial fears but in order to take care of all of that , you have to take care of self and fight your inner demons first before fighting the ones outside.
We are all born with a little darkness in us, I'm not saying we're all evil from the day we exit the womb, I'm saying that we all have some untapped potential of havoc. Whether it be in ourselves or the world.
